Our Highland cattle

The oldest registered cattle breed

The Scottish Highland cattle, also known as Highland or Kyloe, belong to the breed of domestic cattle. This breed was first registered in 1884. It originates from northwest Scotland, where it has developed its characteristic traits over centuries through natural selection – the small and relatively light Highland cattle are considered docile, robust, and long-lived; they are suitable for year-round outdoor grazing and calve easily and frequently, even without human assistance.

Our farm offers the opportunity to admire these Highland cattle! In summer, the animals are on the alpine pasture, and in winter, they are right behind our house.
